We discussed the tragic work accident that left Adrion paralyzed, his fiancée being six months pregnant with his daughter Bella at the time of his injury, and the daily triumphs he makes on his road to recovery. We also chatted about advocating for others with spinal cord injuries, the role that the Triumph Foundation and connecting with others dealing with SCI played in his recovery, and the fantasy football league that he plays in with Jerimie. We talked about a number of topics from the history of Frank's Landing where the infamous "fishing wars" happened to an update on the statue of his father Billy Frank Jr. We also discussed his recent trip to Washington DC to meet with other Tribal Leaders and President Biden. Willie told us about how the Biden administration has been the most friendly administration in history for Native American Tribes, some of the big issues facing Indian Country, and how he is putting a focus on the children of his Tribe and uniting people across all boundaries. On this abbreviated version Live to Walk Again Podcast we talk about the tragic incident from Monday Night Football were Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest after making a tackle. We chatted about not knowing the extent of the injury at the time and how we were fearing that it may be a spinal cord injury, the people we know who have suffered SCI as the result of playing football, and the effect that has on their families. We know now that Damar is awake and doesn't seem to have any neurological issues from the heart attack and we wish him and his family the best of luck moving forward!!
