We talked about the shooting that left him paralyzed, having to go through his hospital stay and rehabilitation while fighting for his freedom, and what it means to him to encourage and motivate other people dealing with this injury. We also discussed some of the aspects of a Spinal Cord Injury that people don't think about, where walking again ranks on the list of possible life improvements for someone with an SCI, and how getting back in the gym after being injured has helped him. This week on the Live to Walk Again Podcast we had the pleasure of speaking with Vaughn Pfeffer who is an Advocate, Motivator, Adaptive Athlete, and Spinal Cord Injury Survivor. We talked about the spinal stroke he suffered two years ago stemming from an aortic dissection, because of the heart condition having to wait six weeks to essentially do any kind of SCI rehab, and some of the different adaptive sports he's had a chance to try out since his injury. We also discussed the unbelievable story of how his father renovated his home to make it accessible for Vaughn and his fiancée to move in with him before his father ultimately ended up suffering a Spinal Cord Injury this past spring. This week on the Live to Walk Again Podcast we had the opportunity to speak with Drew Plauche who is a Spinal Cord Injury Survivor and all-around bad ass. We talked about the dirtbike accident that left him paralyzed in December 2019, having to go out of state for his rehab stay, and having the opportunity to work with Mike Barwis and Nick Lucius at Barwis methods in both Florida and Colorado. We also discussed how Drew was able to get back involved in a lot of the outdoors activities that had been a big part of his life before his injury and his love for brewing beer and the folks at Parish Brewing where he was working before his accident.
